The event series- “Midnight Transmissions” - is the next chapter in our effort to expand the minds of the the DC underground scene by featuring top touring DJs with new and developed talent from DC’s fertile pool. On the main floor, expect a dark dance floor more often associated with the techno and house clubs of Berlin and New York featuring a soundtrack of future, soulful music that is guaranteed to get you dancing. Upstairs, Midnight FM will continue to explore their unique style of “acid disco” - parts acid techno, italo disco, and electronic body music.
Kicking us off is Patrick Russell (Interdimensional Transmissions, The Bunker NY | Brooklyn) makes his first visit to DC since 2017. He has gotten a lot of attention and accolades since his last visit to DC. This includes residencies at the Mostra festival in Barcelona and “Closer to the Source” in Detroit; all while being awarded “set of the year” from Resident Advisor and Vice.
Joining him are Mvertue Futura- a recent DC transplant from Guatemala who brings his youthful energy into his dark disco sets, Bastet- a veteran electronic body music dj from Baltimore, and the Midnight FM residents: Associate, Kiva, and Stos.
Midnight FM seeks to provide an all inclusive space for all races, national origins, sexual orientations, physical abilities, as well as gender identity and expressions- as it is important to us to curate a space that reflects the diversity of our crew and our dancefloor. While all are welcome please respect that Transmission is a queer owned and operated space. We have a zero tolerance policy for harassment, bullying, non-consensual touching or violence of any form.
To accommodate those with visual sensitivities this will be a low light event with no flashing lights, no strobe lights, and no lasers. In order to respect each other’s privacy, no photos or videos are allowed to be taken on the dance floor. Stewards will be on site to help promote everyone’s safety and ensure we can all have an amazing time dancing together.
