This Thursday we bring our love for late night movements and sounds to a legendary DC establishment, Eighteenth Street Lounge, for Make People Dance Thursdays. We invite you to join us as we pay respect to a storied venue and its guests, longtime and new, and the ears of our friends and supporters, with House music and rhythms that celebrate the month we’ve recently entered.
In other words, prepare to shake some ass, we got a dancefloor to turn out.
Selections by Stos, Kiva, and vinyl by Associate.
A special note:
If you’re reading this, while we hope to see your face - during these times, please be safe, vigilant, and caring to yourself. In our area, we are facing tough weather conditions which have impacted travel and wellness. Nationally, we are enduring through unpleasant news which we are constantly absorbing through our smart devices, our laptops, television, etc. Please remember that dancing and other expressions of joy are forms of resistance to those who seek to oppress and stoke fear. Also, remember the many ways to take care of your mind, body, and soul; treat yourself to something nice like hot chocolate, soup, a new vinyl, a day at the cinema, a good workout, a proper night’s rest. And speak out if you notice any establishment or persons causing harm to you or your community.
Sending love. We shall overcome. One day at a time.
